The Advisory Committee is currently composed of 23 delegates selected for a five-year term (from January 2015) by the most representative organisations of Luxembourg’s social and cultural fabric.

The Committee must be consulted during an investigation opened in response to a complaint or on the Authority’s own initiative in cases related to the protection of minors and incitement to hatred based on race, sex, opinion, religion or nationality, for both radio and television services and film screenings.

The Board of Directors may also decide to consult the Committee in cases related to ALIA’s other areas of responsibility.

The Committee has elected a three-member Bureau composed of Fernand Weides, chairman, and Nico Binsfeld and Robert Koeller, members.

The Bureau meets as many times as needed to set the agenda for plenary meetings. It draws up draft opinions and position papers which are submitted for final decision to the members in plenary session.
